The Faith of a Child

Last Thursday we lost our sweet bird Coco.  Jailyn and I printed off posters and hung them around town and at grocery stores.  We told our neighbors to be on the look out and posted a lost/found on craigslist.  Thursday night after a 97 degree day at 55% humidity we prayed and prayed that Coco would find her way home or that she would find a new home or go to live with our Heavenly Father, but mostly we prayed for her to come home.  That night was the biggest, loudest, windiest, rainiest storm I have ever experienced in my life.  We received 4 inches of rain that night and figured that if poor Coco wasn't safe in someones home she hadn't made it through the night. 
We continued to pray for her and Jailyn always reminded us that Heavenly Father can do anything.  I was skeptical because I owned a bird when I was younger that flew out the door and was never found and my family has lost a few that way.
On Saturday we got an email saying that someone had found a cockatiel on their sun porch and hoped that it was ours.  When we called them we found out that it wasn't Coco.  Jailyn was devastated and the search/mourning continued.  On Monday morning we got another email from craigslist saying someone had found our cockatiel and that they just knew she was ours.  We got ready and headed over to their house at 10 in the morning. 
WE FOUND COCO!!!!  The teenage daughter was outback Sunday night playing volleyball with friends when out of the 95 degree blue sky flew this yellow bird.  The boy tried to protect himself from the oncoming bird, but was shocked when it just landed on his finger.  For the rest of the night they played with her, fed her and cared for her.  The people that found Coco are amazing, they have already invited us over for dinner and are bird sitting Coco this weekend while we go on a weekend vacation.   
After praying to thank God for watching over our bird for us over the past 4 days, Andi is the only person who has been able to explain how Coco made it.  She says that Heavenly Father took Coco up to heaven until he found a family for her to go to that would take care of her. 
I am convinced that we would have never met this family if Coco hadn't flown out of our home and into theirs.  They have asked us about our church and we are hoping that we can make some great friends out of this and maybe share a bit more or our beliefs with them.  Who knows...By small and simple things, are great things brought to pass!
