Ty and Katie... OUR VISITORS!!!

About a month ago we were super stoked to finally have our first Utah visitors to our new home in Tennessee.  It was Ty and Katie!  They came to Tennessee on July 2nd and went back to Utah on July 8th.  We were so excited to have some people come over and were hoping to be somewhat moved in by the time they showed up, but as luck would have it, we had absolutely nothing yet so they got to camp out in our house with us.  They were great sports and didn't mind sleeping on the creeky futon.

Since we are so new to the area instead of showing them around we explored the area together.  The first day they were here we went on a short/broken up tour of some of the civil war sights here.

Here's Katie and Jailyn at one of the beautiful 1850's homes that we walked around.  We wished we could have gotten inside, but we were too late.

Here's the family hanging out with a Canon in Franklin on a hill that was once covered in war and brave men....Notice that we are all safely behind the barrel.

Clearly we should have went over weaponry safety before we went here with these two!

Here's Mr. B all sorts of excited to be hiking up the hill to overlook Franklin.

Here is Miss Lauren hiking up the hill in style.

The view from the top really was amazing but my camera is not.  So imagine green, bright, happiness behind these two.

We also went to the Nashville zoo, well part of it, it was too hot to wonder around the entire thing.  Here are some of my favorite pictures.

We got to hold a python skull, I was amazed at all of the nasty teeth they have.  This is Rich holding the nasty beast.

There was this huge snake, that looked like Caa on The Jungle Book.  His eyes were buggy and he actually looked dead, but he wasn't. We asked.

We also saw a miniature Kevin from Up.  It was so cute and even made the same noises as Kevin.

Here's Mr. B overlooking the bird bath and wishing he was in it.

Andi's favorite part was the Crocodiles of course.  She loves these scary creatures and always has.

We rented this cart for the kids, but it worked out quite nicely for us adults to rest in as well.  Check out this sexy beast I found holding my adorable kids in the cart. Lucky find of the Day!

Katie and I decided to try it out by the flamingos, but we were too, umm, excited to see the flamingos!

The flamingos were really funny, and had an attitude.  Ty and Mr. B were buddies this weekend and Lauren named Tyler her best friend.

Katie and Lauren by the flamingos.  Katie asked if she could be Lauren's friend but Lauren simply said "No, Tyler is my friend."

We went into the petting zoo and brushed the goats and llamas and camel.

See, they loved us.

Luckily they had this awesome spraying feature and the kids took full advantage of it and were soaked within minutes.

Imagine that, Andi found a crocodile to hang out with.

We also paid extra to go on the Dinosaur Trek, which we were all hoping would be a train ride or something that didn't require us to walk, but we were wrong.  Andi loved the scary, and quite graphic dinosaur scenes....

...Lauren and Braken ...mm...not so much.

But we still got some pictures of the happy kids with the dinosaurs.

They did enjoy digging up the dinosaur bones and playing in the sand at the end though.  We had a blast and still have a lot more of the zoo to explore next time we go.

They were all tuckered out and sleeping soundly within minutes of leaving the zoo.
We are so glad the Ty and Katie came to visit us and can't wait to see them again.  We will for sure see them at Christmas and hopefully Kaite will have had her new little beautiful baby that I can hold and snuggle and love forever!!! Thank you so much for coming out and for loving us more than anyone else does!
