Fourth of July this year was as always an amazing day in the Farny household. We just had a chill day with no cares, no worries and no rush. We decided to go to Franklin for the fireworks because we weren't ready for the chaos of the downtown Nashville fireworks with 4 kids and we love Franklin. We headed to the firework festivities with chairs, treats and glow sticks in hand around 7 pm. We thought there would be crazy traffic to get there but we just drove right to it, parked and walked up to the party! We set up our chairs on a hill and went to play at the festival until it got dark. Then we ordered some hot dogs, fries and deilcious home-made donuts. I know it doesn't sound very healthy but we did drink water with it. :)
We watched the fireworks and were very impressed with the live band and firework display that was put on. All of the kids enjoyed the fireworks this year, which is awesome because the past 2 years Lauren hasn't enjoyed them at all. Here are some pics.
The kids right before we left for the partay. I painted their faces before we left so that we wouldn't have to pay someone else to do it.
Heres the whole familia with our faces painted and stoked to go.
Walkin to the festivities on a horse ranch. Imagine that in Tennessee!
The only activity we paid for the whole night was the petting zoo which was awesome because it was only 2 dollars for the 3 girls and Mr. B was free. Plus it was unlimited time. They hung out in there for over half an hour while rich and I watched them.
Andi's favorite thing was the chicken. She held it and loved it and brushed it with a goat brush.
Lauren loved the baby cow. She was so cute and kept hugging that little baby and calling it her "honey".
Mr. B just ran around like a kid in a, well, petting zoo. He loved every minute of it!
We had a awesome night and are so grateful to live in a country with the many freedoms we enjoy. I am especially grateful to all of the soldiers who fight for my freedoms and protect my family here in the U.S. You people are amazing and deserve so much more that you get for your sacrifices. I think we should pay our troops more than the government, the troops do 300 times more to serve this country than the congress could ever do. I love you all and wish you a safe deployment and pray for your families while you are away. God Bless you all and God Bless America!
