A science project, parade, and pins!~!

Andi came home from school needing to do a solar system of all of the planets she was learning about in the Milky Way.  We were short on supplies but we have a surplus of balloons, wire hangers, tulle and hot air.  So with that we were able to make this awesome solar system.  Andi was so proud of her creation and she got an A+!  We made this at the beginning of December and she brought it home at the beginning of January and the balloons still had plenty of air in them.  Well done Andi

Just before Christmas break, Spring Hill had a Christmas parade, now a winter celebration, but an actual Christmas parade where Christ was the center of the festivities.  It was really neat to see a community that comes together to worship.  And if you don't celebrate Christmas then don't come! Or do come and enjoy the free cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate, music, bibles, gift bags, candy and parade! 

A lot of church's participated in the parade (like at least 30 different church's) and there were some amazing floats.  Our church; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints even had a float with the missionaries and youth walking around handing out goodies.  It wasn't the best float in the parade and didn't win the Christmas Parade Trophy, but it was still nice to see us represented as part of the christian community.  There were also several boy scout groups, car shop, and girl scout troop floats.  Jailyn was in the parade as part of her girl scout troop and had so much fun riding in the parade.

Here's the kids sitting in the back of the van waiting for the parade to start.  We sat right next to the First Baptist Church on Main street and they were more than generous!  They gave us hot chocolate, bibles and goodies.  Super nice! 

 This is probably my favorite float of the night.  It was super creative and they didn't even win the trophy.  It reminded me of something my dad might have on his truck! haha.

I also liked this float because they had a bubble machine that looked kind of like snow falling and the bubbles lasted for a good half hour after the float passed.

After the parade Jailyn was awarded her very first brownie girl scout pin.  She was so proud and we are so proud of her.
