Labor Day 2011

I love Labor Day Weekend!  I always get to go camping, hiking, fishing and have an awesome time with my family!  This weekend was no exception, except for we did a few extra awesome things.  First off we camped like royalty in a camper!  It had a fridge, freezer, toilet and beds!  It was nothing fancy, but when you are used to camping in a tent with a shovel and a role of toilet paper, you realize why so many people buy trailers (especially when you have a 2 year old who is trying to be potty trained.)
We headed up to Idaho on Thursday afternoon.  We stopped to pick up Rich's tag for an elk that he had purchased in May, but wasn't allowed to pick up until after July 10th.  Only to find out that they were sold out!! He was super bummed out but decided to make the best of it and go bear hunting instead and to go Elk hunting in October with Travis and Justin.
All weekend we had been playing P-I-G with the crappy BB Gun that we have and everything was going great until my parents left Travis, Britt, Rich and I at the campground unsupervised. We soon became bored and Rich came up with this great idea to be moving targets for each other.  The rules were strict, because gun safety should always come first when operating a weapon.
RULE #1: only 1 pump!
RULE #2: only aim at the waist and lower!
RULE #3: if you are the target you must wear sunglasses, a hoodie and cover your hands.
RULE #$: MOVE QUICKLY.
Here is the first round:

Brittany and I quickly joined in after we removed the kids from the danger and into the camper to color.  It was a blast!  When my parents came back and saw us all dressed in hoodies, running and serpentine "ing" with Travis shooting at us they remembered that we are still children and shouldn't be left alone for so long with a weapon.  It was a great workout because the BB's hurt!  We ran fast because we didn't want to get hit.  I have about 6 welts on my legs!
We were all filthy by the end of each night and especially by the end of the trip.  Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend!
First morning. We are clean and we are cold!  It was 31 degrees but it warmed up to about 80.
 Andi's Clean, but happy face.
We found this match box in the trailer.  Don't travel with your match box in something shaky or the movin' and shakin' can start your camper on fire! lesson learned!!!
Andi loves to ride in the back of the truck and have the wind in her hair!

All geared up and ready to go huntin' for...brothers, husbands, wives and sis-in-laws!
Boe and Braken collecting fire wood.
Boe trying to keep up with Brakens messiness.
 Braken sayin' no way man!
Braken enjoying his marshamallow even if it has a pinch of dirt in it.
Braken loves to play with balls so when he saw this watermelon he was really excited.
Laurens clean camping face right before dinner.
Jailyn showing off her gorgeous face.
Braken stunned by Talons giant brook trout.
Rich stunned by the photographers beauty.
 Talon the fisherman.

That was some of our weekend.  I hope you enjoyed watching it as much as we liked doing it!  Here's to next years hunting adventures, ya never know we might even try shooting an animal next year!
